Image Use Terms

These Image Use Terms explain how the Alan Shearer Foundation may use photographs uploaded as
part of the Move a Mile challenge.

Uploading an image is completely optional. If you do not want your photograph to be displayed or used
by the Alan Shearer Foundation, please do not upload an image.

By uploading an image

By uploading a photograph as part of Move a Mile, you confirm that:

• you give the Alan Shearer Foundation permission to use and publish the image as set out in
  these terms;
• you are aged 18 or over;
• you have permission from every identifiable person shown in the image for their photograph to
  be uploaded and used in this way; and
• where anyone shown in the image is under 18, you have obtained permission from their parent
  or legal guardian.

Please do not upload an image if you do not have the appropriate permission from everyone identifiable
in it.

Where your image may be used

Once approved, your image may:

• appear in the Miles Moved section of the Alan Shearer Foundation website; and
• be shared on the Alan Shearer Foundation’s official Instagram
  account, @alanshearerfoundation, to promote Move a Mile, the Million Pound Mission and the
  work of the Alan Shearer Foundation.

If you have provided a location as part of your submission, this may be displayed alongside your
approved image in the Miles Moved section of the website.

Your image will only be used on channels controlled by the Alan Shearer Foundation for the purposes
outlined above. We will not sell your image or provide it to another organisation for its own marketing
purposes.

Image approval

All uploaded images are subject to approval by the Alan Shearer Foundation before they are published.
We may choose not to publish an image if we consider it unsuitable for the website or the campaign.

Uploading an image does not guarantee that it will appear on the website or the Alan Shearer
Foundation’s Instagram account.

Where appropriate, we may make minor adjustments to an image, such as cropping or resizing it, so that
it works within the website or social media format. We will not materially alter the content of your
image.

Public use of images

Please remember that the Alan Shearer Foundation website and Instagram account are publicly
accessible.

This means that once an image has been published, other people may be able to view, save, screenshot
or share it. While the Alan Shearer Foundation will only use the image in accordance with these terms,
we cannot control copies or further sharing carried out by members of the public after publication.

Withdrawing your permission

You can withdraw your permission for the Alan Shearer Foundation to use your image at any time.

To do so, please email info@alanshearerfoundation.org.uk

Once we receive your request, we will remove the image from the Move a Mile website and, where
applicable, from the Alan Shearer Foundation’s own Instagram account as soon as reasonably
practicable.

We may not be able to remove copies that have already been saved, screenshotted, shared or
republished by other people outside of the Alan Shearer Foundation’s control.

Your personal information

Photographs that identify an individual may constitute personal information. The Alan Shearer
Foundation will handle personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
