A massive thank you to everyone who joined Alan Shearer, Lee Westwood and our patron, Mike Browne, at the Alan Shearer Foundation annual fundraising golf event.

More than 100 golfers teed off at Close House and raised almost £36,000. Every penny ensures the therapeutic facilities at the Alan Shearer Activity Centre, used by thousands of people of all ages who are living with disabilities, remains entirely free of charge.

A parent of one of our Alan Shearer Centre guests said, “Having free access to the hydro pool at the Alan Shearer Centre has been life changing for my son and for me.  When he’s in the pool, he comes alive and is able to be free and move around all on his own. I don’t know what we would do without the Centre!”  Our thanks also go to Sir Graham Wylie and the team at Close House who always go above and beyond to create an extra-special day.
